LFW: The Survival Guide
The most important event in the calendar, London Fashion Week is the place to see and be seen. But surviving a week of shows, afterparties and after-afterparties is a skill even industry insiders haven’t mastered yet.
We’ve rounded up the five essential ways to tackle the week and make it out the other side in one stylish piece.
Ready Your Toolbox
“This is where that little pouch that’s been sitting in your drawer for years will come in handy. You need to fill it with blister plasters, a protein bar, a portable phone charger, a pen and a bottle of water. Trust us on this one.”
(Don’t) Make It Rain
Forgetting your umbrella makes the chances of it raining increase by 200% (officially). It’s better to be safe than sorry, so get a little compact brolly and leave it in your bag – you won’t regret it.
If you take one nugget of wisdom away from this post, let it be this: Put flats in your bag. After your third day of running from show to show, your feet will be screaming for flat shoes, so keep some aside for when the time comes to give in.
Avoid All Kinds of Fur
“The wrath you’ll feel from anti-fur protestors (even if your fur really is faux) just isn’t worth it. Save yourself the aggravation and leave the fuzz at home.”
Networking is what London Fashion Week is all about. Talk to as many people as you can. Follow them on Instagram, tweet them, do whatever you can to socialise because the more people you connect with, the more fashion week comrades you’ll have for next season!
